Occupation: Paraprofessional
Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 3 From Kelli: Wow! 20 years. I can't believe it. I feel old! I have had a great time reading about all of you, and at the same time saddened to read about the ones that we have lost. Life has treated me very well since high school. I had a stint at BSU in which I majored in fun! Left and got my act together in Brainerd at the Vo-Tech with a medical secretary degree. I had a very short marriage from 1997 to 1999 which left me with 2 beautiful girls, Chenoa now 10, and Hannah now 8. After my divorce I came back to Grand Rapids and concentrated on my girls and getting through single parenthood. Then in September of 2003, courtesy of Sheri Finke (Wold) I was set up on a blind date with the love of my life Dan Holmbeck. (younger brother of the notorious Dave Holmbeck class of 1988 Greenway :)) We married in September 2005, on our 2 year anniversary date. (How cool is that!) We reside on the North end of Bowstring Lake in Deer River. (Any of you diehard fisherpeople out there can stop in and say Hi, you will find our home about 200 yards from Georgine's Resort, and we have the great big green garage!) Anyway, about 10 months later we had Chase, now 20 months. I was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom for the first year and a half, then went back to work part time at the King School in Deer River. I am a one-on-one para and I work with the early childhood special ed kids. Anyway, that is it in a nutshell. I am looking forward to our reunion as I missed our 10 year. Until then............. |

Occupation: Customer Service Lead
Marital Status: Divorced No. of Children: 3 From Teri: Wow, do I feel old now. All right, I don't, much. LOL My choices in life have led me very far from my dream of being a veterinarian. I did do 1 1/2 years at NDSU, but dropped out. I had a few dead end jobs and then went on a blind date (thanks Dale Edwards). Its the longest blind date ever, 16 years. I've spent 1 1/2 year in a semi truck driving around the country (greatest vacation ever!), spent 8 years as a stay at home mom (best job ever) and am now back in the work force as well as on the way to being single again. I met my almost-ex Jon in Grand Rapids. We moved back after trucking and then moved to Washington state for better job opportunities (and his family). He does road construction and we all know how long that season lasts, but in reality doesn't last long enough to support a family all year. I've been out here for close to 13 years now. I've raised his older two children and our 11 y.o. son. My daughter is 21 and out in the Seattle area and our 18 y.o. son is in Iraq doing his duty for his country. Our 11 y.o. is with me working on his 5th grade WASL's (grumble). I currently work as a customer service lead for a nationwide video and entertainment store. I really like the job and the people I work with and most of the customers. LOL I haven't stayed in touch with anyone really. Its genetic. And difficult at 1600 miles away. I have been back to MN twice and was even in town for the `10th reunion, but my son was only 1 1/2 years old and not ready to stay with Grandpa (or anyone not me LOL). We live in Richland, desert/farming land...tons and tons of wheat fields and a bunch of nuclear reactors. Luckily in town there are trees and a river or two. But I miss home and feel like my son is missing out on the finer things in life ;) Snow, snowmobiles, ice fishing (heck plain old fishing), hopping out your back door and into a lake to swim...sigh... I don't know if I can make it to the reunion. Time off and money might be hard to come by...but my dad still has a cabin up that way, so lodging won't be a problem. We'll see. As you can probably tell, I haven't changed much. Lots of gray hair, but 2 teenagers will do that. I discovered that I have more pictures of cars we have owned on my computer than I do of family...so I had my boy take a picture. What you see is what you get. I'll never be a fashion plate, but for my midlife crisis I've decided to learn how to do my hair and put on makeup..once a week or so. ;) I'm happy to read how well you all are doing. Sorry to hear of hardships and that we've lost some. Hopefully I'll see you in August. Teri |

Occupation: Assistant Property
Manager Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Scott: Holy Buckets, we’re getting OLD!
After graduation I moved to St. Paul, majoring in physics and playing football at Hamline University. Unfortunately I never finished my degree. Fortunately I met and fell in love with Tracy. We were married in 1995 (yes, it took me 7 years to pop the question) and we spent our vacation time traveling around the Caribbean, Yucatan Peninsula, Germany and the Czech Republic.
In 2005 Aaron Jacob was born, and Belah Rose followed in 2007. They have re-defined our lives. We’re amazed by every little “first”, and enjoy caring for the bumps, scrapes and sniffles.
I am an Assistant Property Manager in downtown Minneapolis for Grubb & Ellis managing two office towers, a hotel and a parking facility. None of which has anything to do with physics! Tracy is an Educational Assistant at Harding High in St. Paul. She tracks troubled kids and acts as the liaison between the school and the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office.
We recently remodeled our home in Newport (just South of St. Paul). Our two wooded acres is a needed retreat from “the city”. Aaron and Belah have just discovered sliding, and we’ve spent hours going down and then back up our little hill.
After all these years, a couple different jobs, and half a dozen moves I’m fascinated by the fact that my high school friends are still closest to my heart.
Bauer-Knuttila-Huntley-Green-Coffel-Rahne-Hare-Hrouda child birthday parties are seemingly endless, Bauer poker parties are legendary, Knuttila holiday parties are a great end to every year, the annual Hare cabin weekend has changed since adults are now outnumbered by kids, and fishing opener on Winnibigosh is like a little class reunion every year! |

Occupation: Legal Secretary
Marital Status: Divorced No. of Children: 2 From Angel: Well, I was 5 minutes late for work this morning because I couldn't pull myself away from reading all of your bios. Nice to see Tom Beaudry hasn't lost his sense of humor. :) It's fun to catch up and see what everyone's been up to for the last 20 years. Great job on the site! After graduating high school I joined the Navy where I spent the following 6 years and met my husband. After the Navy we moved to New Jersey, his home state. We were married for 10 years and have been divorced for almost as long. I have two beautiful girls, Olivia (13) and Kelsey (11). As all of you know, and I'm not going to ramble on about it, kids keep us all very busy and on our toes. I love it. For the past 14 years I have been working as a legal secretary and raising my two girls. When the girls are with their father I enjoy spending time with my friends as I have met many great people here. I only make it back to MN about once every couple years but I do send the kids to MN every summer for about 3-4 weeks to spend time with my family and enjoy "Minnesota" life! It doesn't get any better than that! I'm very much looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion! Keep in touch. |

Occupation: Clinical Psychologist
Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 1 From Ericka: It has been fun reading all the profiles. It is amazing that 20 years have gone by. I still feel so young, at least at heart. Anyway, after we left high school I went to UMD and graduated with a degree in psychology. I then went to Colorado to get my Master's degree in Human Neuropsychology and returned to Minnesota to get my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. While trying to finish my degree, I was hit head on by a drunk driver on I-35 and broke/shattered a lot of bones. I took the next year or so to recover and re-learn to walk as well as to learn to autocross. It was quite the experience and it is amazing what you learn about yourself and others! Besides , car racing was a lot of fun and what other way to get back into the seat of a car after an accident. It was FUN! Anyway, my degree took me out to Rapid City, SD to do my internship at a VA in Sturgis. Always interesting during rally time!! It is amazing what you would see! I worked for awhile doing some research at an Indian Health Services Hospital on Diabetes, Alcohol Use and Depression, but funding and politics got in the way. I eventually moved onto a couple of small towns in Wyoming and worked as a psychologist, but got tired of the lack of amenities as I would have to drive to Nebraska to even go to a Walmart or Target. I then took a job in Sioux Falls, SD at a hospital for 2 years as a pain management/medical rehabilitation psychologist, but decided corportate life is not for me. I have been in my own practice ever since and enjoying it immensely. At about the time I decided I needed to go into my own practice, I met my husband to be. We married in Barbados which was a blast. We have been married for 2-1/2 years and have a 1 year old son (Adrian) who is the funniest little guy. We call him danger boy as he is fearless and has extremely good pain tolerance! Good thing we are well insured :) We are also expecting our 2nd child at the end of September-early October. Needless to say, I will be about 8 months pregnant at the time of the reunion. All I can say is WOW, it has been 20 years! Where has it all gone! |

Occupation: self employeed
Marital Status: Single Again No. of Children: 2 From Jill: Oh, where to begin. Life has been alright, two marriages, two divorces, two children. Alex, my 6'2" baby boy is 15 and plans on becoming a minister. Sophia my 6 years old, BBQ rib eating machine, as she calls herself, is all tom boy and dressed like Spiderman for Halloween, which is the same costume she wears to the grocery store, Target or any other place I will let her wear it. After highschool I got married moved to Europe for three years and worked for the Department of Defense, got divorced, moved home with a one year old and went to ICC, BSU, and waitressed. Got married again, sold some realestate, opened a small business, got divorced again, so I went out and bought a Harley to celebrate. I have been in a relationship for a little over three years. He runs field trial dogs so I have a few part time children as I call them. Drake(9, yellow, 2004 National Open Champion) Lilly(3 1/2, black) Sonny(2 1/2, yellow) Jimmy(5 months, yellow), they keep us on the road most of the summer. A turning point in my life was August 2006. Nothing like having an 82 year old woman pull out infront of you as you are going for fourth gear. No, I don't wear a helmet. Gary and I are both still trying to recover, but has sustained permanent injuries, but are very lucky to be alive. It re-enforced what I already believed, money helps with the stress of paying bills, toys are great, but you can't take any of that with you when it is time to leave this earth, the only thing that is truly important is family and friends, oh, and a few dogs. I am computer illiterate but I am going to try to post a picture of Gary and I walking down the street in Sturgis, if not, I can be seen if you search Jill Janecek, Island Sun Times, and The Tanning Hut. Well, I have to get back to cleaning up sweat, what a glamorous life. (My business is a tanning salon) Looking forward to seeing everyone! |

Occupation: Quality Assurance Analyst
Website: alaskanbeer.com Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Darin: OK, whew! 20 years eh? Has anyone else had a hard time growing up and actually believing that it has been so long since we have graduated from High school? It's been cool to read everyone's bios and see where our lives have taken us so far. As for me, well.. After graduating, I worked at good ol' Miners Mega Mart as a stock boy for about four years. During that time I also attended a year @ ICC. Not too much was happening for my sweetie Katrina Doty (G.R. Grad 1990) and I, so I sold my car to buy a ferry ticket, hopped on a Grey Hound Bus and we headed north to Alaska. We landed in Juneau (capital) in April of 93'. We thought we would give it a try for the summer. Well, 2 beautiful daughters later and a house we are still here! I married that sweet woman of mine 11 years ago, but we have been together for over 20 years. Our oldest daughter Ariah is turning 14 and our youngest Taya is turning 10. The girls keep us plenty busy (don't they all) with Hiking, skating, dancing, jump rope and dancing. We all try to take full advantage of our surroundings with Snowboarding, skiing, wakeboarding, hiking and a bit of fishin'. I landed a sweet job at the local brewery just about 2 weeks after I moved here and have been their since. I have been working @ Alaskan Brewing Co. for 15 years. I work in the QC dept...really (thats what every one seems to joke about.) Its' a cool place to work where I get to brew, check specs on beer and make sure the beer is consistent and up to AKB standards. Yes, taste once in a while also:) I'm fortunate to work with a very diverse group of people and they are all very cool. Katrina works in the school district as a Spec Ed Para Professional. She's been doing that for 10 years. It's cool cause she gets the summers off with the girls. I play guitar and used to play in a band called Brown Haven. Music is still a huge part of my life. Trina and I always try to plan a couple of good concerts/ festivals during our annual summer trip back home to Minnesota. Some highlights from the past 20 years: Surfing in Yakutat, Family trip to Disneyland, family trip to Glacier Bay, havin a beer with Mike Smith on Mendenhall glacier, playing guitar/singing in local band "Brown Haven", playing guitar in theatre production of The Who's "Tommy", Heli boarding this past winter on Mt. Ben Stuart, watching a pod of Orcas feed on a stellar sea lion from a boat. Ok, maybe thats just the past few years. Ahh, it's hard to remember all the highlights- I guess there have been so many. Oh, and the fact that the old memory ain't quite what it used to be! Well, It's been fun reading everyone bios. I will be at the reunion, so can't wait to catch up and hear some more class mates great adventures. See ya 08/08 for 88! |

Occupation: Sales Operations Manager
Marital Status: Single No. of Children: 1 From Dawn: Hi everyone! After high school, I went to UMD for 1 year and then transferred to the U of MN in Minneapolis to major in Journalism. I graduated from there in 1993 and got my first job at a newspaper that year. I moved around to a few Midwestern newspapers between 1993 and 1999, mostly as a copy editor/editor and also did some reporting and column writing. My son, Hunter, was born in 1999 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, where I was working at the time. His Dad (from the Twin Cities) specifically asked for a Vikings knit cap, instead of a Packers knit cap, to be put on him at the hospital. The volunteers who knit the caps make both just in case. We gave it an honest try at living together as a family, but my son's Dad and I are terrible at relationships, especially with each other.;-) However, we succeed at being friends who DO NOT live together, and we share custody, which works out really well for both of us. Hunter is a little engineer, who likes to study how things are put together and loves to read, like me. He is of course really smart, handsome and talented -- but I'm biased. Having a baby led me to take a corporate job, where I didn't have to work nights or weekends. So in late 1999, I began working at a corporate division of U.S. Bank and moved back to the Twin Cities. I worked at U.S. Bank for five years as a Proposal Writer and later as the manager of the proposal writing team. In 2004, I moved to another corporate job at UnitedHealth Group and have been there ever since, managing people, process and projects in a Sales Operations department. Other than spending a lot of time at work and with my son, I spend my free time mostly with friends, reading, and trying to enjoy any sunny weather that comes our way in the Mpls./St. Paul area. My parents still live in Grand Rapids too so I'm in town at least a few times a year. I plan to attend the reunion, so I'll see you all there! |
