WOW!  It is so fun to read and see what everyone is doing and how they have changed.

Paul and I got married in September of 1995.  We lived in Baraboo, WI for 5 years before moving back to Grand Rapids.   After having our daughter Alyssa "Lyssie" in 1999 we decided that we want to come back to the "Great North" and raise our daughter where we were raised.  We are glad we did.  Lyssie goes to Cohasset school, and loves it - she has some of the same teachers that Paul had.

Paul and I work together - we own Minuteman Press, a printing company.  NO we can't print money, but it sure would be nice if we could.  I do all the marketing and advertising, and Paul runs all the production and day to day business of the company.

I also enjoy my hobby of marketing wine.  I am an independant consultant for the Traveling Vineyard.  I do wine tasting in peoples homes.  I get to go to work at night and drink some of the finest wines from across the globe- what could be more fun.  The best part about this job is that it doesnt feel like a job.  I get to learn about wines and share my knowledge with people who have an interest in learning more about it too.  If you would like to have a wine party just give me a call.

One of the  most exciting things that Paul and I have done since school is build our dream house together.  We built on the "Frick Family Land" and we look over a beautiful field and see all the great things that "northern Minnesota has to offer.

I look forward to seeing everybody at the reunion.

I look at everyone else's bios and wonder if I will ever decide what I want to be when I grow up.
I did two years at ICC, got married in 1990 to Iver (Remer Northland class of '77), moved to Grand Forks, made it through one semster at UND and quit.  I did hair for several years until we moved to the cities in 1995.  I couldn't afford day care on what I could make doing hair so I became a stay at home mom.

I started working at the YMCA, in the fitness center, when Sarah was two months old.  I started teaching group fitness classes in late '97.   I am qualified to teach Yoga, Pilates, Step, Cycle, Water, Seniors, CardioKick, Hi/lo, plus Body Step, Body Pump, Body Flow, and RPM (
www.lesmills.com/midwest).   I'm also a certified personal trainer, but don't actually take clients.  I worked full-time as a group fitness manager for 5 years with the YMCA but realized I had lost my love for teaching so I pulled back.  Now I teach 8-12 classes a week at the Southwest Y in Eagan, MN Valley Y in Burnsville, Midway Y in St Paul, plus Gold's Gym in Woodbury.  If you ever want to come take one of my classes, let me know I get lots of free guest passes.

I'm also a Group Fitness trainer for YMCA of the USA.  I get the opportunity to work with instructors from all around Minnesota-hi to Lisa Marinucci, Jenny Blake, Anne Richardson, and Jen Rajala!

My husband Iver works for Thomson Rueters in Eagan doing some something or other with computers.  Matthew will be a sophomore at Burnsville High School next year.  He does no sports or activites, he likes to read and play D&D on-line (yep-total geek).  Sarah is going into 8th grade and she plays tennis and is still in Girl Scouts with her friends from kindergarten.  Becca is going into 6th grade, she's a soccer nut and is just like me, that's probably why she drive me bananas!!

Just like many of you I can't believe that 20 years has gone by since we were in high school!  It has gone by fast!
After Graduating high school I attend ICC for a year and then went on to Stout University in Wisconsin.  I graduated with a Retail Merchandising & Management degree and a minor in International Business.  I went on to work as a buyer for Younkers Dept. store in Des Moines IA - yes the fashion capital of the US...not.  I then moved to St. Louis, MO and worked for May Co. for 5 years.  For those of you who don't know I lost my Mom to breast cancer in Jan. 2000 - be sure to get your check ups!!!
In the fall of 2000 I moved even farther south to Dallas TX taking a job with JCPenney.  My job had allowed me to travel to more places then I honestly remembered learning about in our 8th grade geography class but wow was it amazing!  India remains my most favorite place to go.  In the summer of 2001 I met my now husband Neal.  We married in 2002 and now have two beautiful little girls!  Sydney 4 yrs. and Samantha 2 yrs.  They are the most amazing accomplishment of my life so far!  They look just like their daddy.....but have my personality in many ways.  Weekends now are spent going to the zoo, flying kites in the park & playing dress up - I wouldn't change it for the world!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion!  Thanks to everyone who is helping to plan it!  See you soon!

Hi, Everyone--

Have checeked the website out a few times, finally putting some stuff on here.  Pics to follow.  Things look great, nice work!

How do you sum up 20 years of stuff in a few paragraphs?  Finished up degree in Civil Engineering at U of MN in cities, have worked for public and consulting companies ever since.  Most recently took a job with City of Superior, WI as Assistant Public Works Director which gets me into all sorts of crazy stuff from landfills to wastewater treatment plants.

Have been married to my wife, Kelly, for going on 11 great years--we have three kids Lucas (7), Natalie (nearly 5), and Miles (3) and have lived in Duluth nearly 9 years now.  Get back to GR a few times per year, mostly around the holidays and a couple times in summer to go to the cabin north of Deer River which my dad still has from when I was a kid.  It is always fun to come to town, but I have been a bad boy about keeping in touch with folks from school!

Not sure yet if we'll be able to make the reunion stuff, but hoping to.  Take care all--enjoying reading all of your updates, brings back a lot of memories.

Jeff

Seems like forever ago when we graduated!  I went to college at ICC and in Wausau, Wisconsin, taking courses in Radiology and Surgical Technician.  I got married in 1996 to my husband, who is a Cheesehead, which is what brought me to Wisconsin.  We had a son in 1998 (Connor) and a daughter in 2002 (Abbie).  They are both in school now and I am working part-time at home, as a medical transcriptionist, contracting with a few hospitals on the east coast.  I volunteer at school in my spare time.  We love snowmobiling, 4-wheeling and traveling.  We live on a small farmette.  I only get to GR once a year or so now that both of my parents are gone, but drive through town with tons of memories!  Not sure we'll get to the reunion, as that a the end of baseball season, but will try!  Meri

Wow has it been great reading about the people that I grew up with.  This really brings back a flood of memories.  Sad to say I haven't seen most of you since 1985 when my mom and I moved to Moorhead, MN, but I will always consider Grand Rapids to be my high school and you all to have been the classmates that really matter to me.
Life is good.  I met the love of my life in 2003 and we married in 04.  I have twin boys Jesse and Jake, they are 17 years old and will be Sr's next year and I am also blessed with a step son Tyler who is 8.
We share our home with two very large dogs and two very vocal parrots, it gets to be a zoo around here, but we love it.
I recently quit my job as office manager of a property management company and on April 1 I will be starting a new job as a personal assistant for a retired Judge and also as a coordinator of his non profit orginization that helps orphans in other country's.
I don't have a then picture to upload, if anyone has an older yearbook photo of me, feel free to upload it.  I will get current photos of myself and my family uploaded as soon as I can.
It is so great to read about so many of you, and to know that you are doing well.
Take care and hope to see you soon!!!
Angie

Great to read all the news about everyone!  Sorry I'm a bit late with the bio.  Thanks 'Cookie' for gettin' me goin' on this.  Time has just been whipping by...Here goes.

In August of 1988 I left for the Navy and that was all a great experience.  Gulf War 1 veteran, of course as I stayed in for six years.  Spent some great time in San Diego,California area then came back to Minnesota in 1994.  '94-98 was kind of a blurr but I did manage to go to school in Staples, MN where I learned something about CNC machining.  A pretty good trade and I did work as a machinist for a time with Frigidaire in St.Cloud.  I would always get back up to G.R. to do my recreating on the weekends and days off.  I took the opportunity to move back up to the area permanently in 2001 when I was hired at Minnesota Power's Boswell Energy Center in Cohasset.  This has worked well for me.   I am able to do the things I love and be very close to family.

I was married from 2004-2007 and do still get along pretty well with the ex-Mrs. Guertin.  I have a beautiful 13 year-old daughter, Nala, and she is a joy to raise and hang out with.  I am really taking the time to bond with her as she works through those difficult teenage years like we all did 25 years ago!  I remember nothing but fun and I am always telling people what a great class GRHS1988 was!

I am looking forward to seeing all of you and catching up on the memories!

Wow!  What a wonderful site to catch up with everyone, thank you to the committee for putting all of this together.  It will be nice to reconnect with old friends.

Just after our ten year reunion, my husband Scott and I got married.  Our first family addition was a yellow lab - we named her Stella!  She is now an 85 pound lap dog and starting to show her years.  Getting her was our practice for "real" children...

We were excited (and more than a little shocked!) to have twin boys, Owen and Oliver, in the Fall of 2001.  They are 6, in a Spanish Immersion Program for kindergarten, and keep us very busy with hockey and swim practice in the winters, and golf and baseball in the summers.  They are fraternal - I like to think one looks like me and one looks like Scott, but somehow, they both really just look like Scott.

After the twins were born, we  moved from St. Paul to Excelsior, MN so I wouldn't have such a long work commute, and because we really liked the schools.

We welcomed our third son, Bennett, in early 2007.  He just turned 1 on February 28th and is just lovely!  He took his first steps on his first birthday and hasn't stopped since!  He jabbers on about this and that all day long and loves to follow Owen and Oliver around and try to do everything they do!

I work for Stryker Orthopaedics as a program manager.  It's not the most creative job I could have, but it's flexible, and that makes all the difference with young kids!

Hope everyone is doing well - can't wait to catch up with you all!

Kristin
