Hi everyone. 20 years have come and gone, yet I feel so young, just probably don't look it! Let's see, wanted to be a pro bowler.. yeah, that worked out! Was so narrow minded when I started college I wanted to only be that pro bowler or work in the bowling industry. Yeah, that worked out! Ended up following in my dad's footsteps and became a Physical Education teacher.... that one did work out! I have also started a little side business building web sites, currenly with three clients. It is a nice release from the every day life of teaching. After leaving Grand Rapids, I attended and graduated from St. Cloud State in 1993 with a degree in Education (Physical Education). I met my wife at SCSU and we married in 1995. We both teach for the Anoka-Hennepin School District and live in Andover. We have two girls, Molly and Allyson. I still love keeping track of Grand Rapids hockey and sometimes find myself checking on them before schools in my own school district. It was so great to see them back at State these past two years, though it just isn't the same without the clear glass boards of the Civic Center. I still think we got screwed in 1988 against Jefferson...... but who is to dwell? :-) I still hold vivid memories of the group of kids standing on the train bridge near Snowball Lake on the way to Hibbing. Greenway came through first and had to deal with that crowd of rabid Rapids fans! Then came the GR bus of players and man everyone was pumped up! Beating Greenway and then Hibbing to go to state was so sweet! Ah, the good memories! I still visit Grand Rapids as my mom still lives in town. What a great place to grow up and is still a great place to visit! Take care everyone!

It was fun to read what everyone has been up to over the years.  After high school, I went to ICC then to UND and finished up my bachelor's degree.  I moved to Minneapolis and started working in the non-profit field.  Needed a change so I went back to grad school in 2000 to get my Master's degree.   I got married in 2004 and now live in Eden Prairie with my husband Thomas.  I've been working for the past 5 years at the same non-profit and love what I do.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this summer.

This is truly a blast from the past reading these Bios. After ditching out ½ way through of my senior year to now there has been twenty years of adventures. A marriage has come and gone a career as a French chef on the East Coast has blossomed into a career as a Park Ranger in Alaska. Don’t get back to town much but recently my parents moved back to the area and I am hoping to stop in more frequently for visits. Love to hear from folks and when I have more time, I will fill in the gaps.

From Chris:

Wow... 20 years.... seems like just yesterday I was cleaning up my house after a band party and wondering how all the towel racks got ripped out of the walls.  Don't tell Silko or Saiger.  Good times!

Well, the time has gone fast.  After high school and a brief stint at the U of MN, I graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree in business administration.  Shortly after college, I got married (Martha Nyvall, Class of '89) and moved down to the Twin Cities.  We've lived all over the south metro and have finally settled down in Northfield.  We like the small town feel and it's a nice place to raise a family.

I commute up to Eagan, and work in a finance/strategic marketing role for the Thomson Corporation.  I've been there for about six years, in various roles.  Prior to Thomson, I worked for US Bancorp and United HealthCare.

We have two children, Grant (11) and Kate (8).  They are both super kids and a lot of fun.  I spend my spare time helping coach Grant's baseball and basketball teams.  I can't believe he's in middle school already.  Kate is a very happy child and participates in gymnastics, swimming, and piano.

When I'm not working or going to kid events, I'm finishing up my MBA at the University of St. Thomas... only three courses to go...

I'm looking forward to seeing the old crew this summer at the reunion.  Should be fun.  I've enjoyed reading some of the other comments.

Chris

After high school,  I went to ICC for two years, married Chris Erickson (from Greenway) in June of 1990 – 18 years this summer YIKES – poor guy!  We both graduated in 1993 from Bemidji State with Elementary Ed. Degrees and then it was off to the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota for 5 years.  It was quite the experience – it certainly changes your perspective on many things.  We had some of the best pheasant and turkey hunting you could ever ask for!

After our daughter Kendra was born in 1996, the twelve hour drive back to G.R. was a bit too much.  We moved back to MN in the summer of 98, jobs or no jobs, we needed lakes and trees!  We eventually landed in St. Cloud. For us, it has everything we need and is the perfect distance to the cities for day trips and still close enough to home and family.

Our son Drew was born in October of 2000. He is a happy go lucky kid with a knack for pushing his sisters buttons…she has knack for reacting…what a combo! When we are not referring their battles, they keep us busy with basketball, softball, and baseball. Kendra has also decided to play the cello, what a sound! Sometimes I wonder if there was a mix up at the hospital.

I have been teaching first grade in St. Cloud for the past 10 years at the “inner city” school. It has its ups and downs, most days are fun…just keep a bottle of hand sanitizer around for those wondering little fingers – its amazing where they can put them! Six year olds may be cute, but looks can be deceiving…they will eat you alive if you are not careful.

I still enjoy crafts. My latest kick has been knitting crazy socks and quilting. A weekend away with other quilters and no family is a blessing in disguise for everyone! I have messed around with scrap booking, but I keep promising Chris I won’t become one of those crazy scrap booking ladies.

As a family we enjoy camping, riding bikes, geocaching, and just spend time together – most days!

Looking forward to the reunion – Thanks to everyone that is getting this organized.

Hi everyone!  Things are going well for me (Turbo).  After graduating from Point, I am working as a stone mason, building stone fireplaces and doing other stone work.  My company is Ewen Stone Works.

I married my beautiful wife, Melissa, in November of 1999.  She works as a chemistry and engineering teacher at GRHS.

We have two children.   Grant is 4 and Nathan is 2.  They keep us very happy, exhausted and busy.  Grant started hockey this past winter at 3 years old.  Nathan seems to want to get skates on a.s.a.p.

We have kept busy with our cabin in Canada, building our second home (should be finished before the reunion), hunting, snowmobiling, and family.

Hope to see you all at the reunion.
